Join us for An Evening of Dance on Sat, March 5th at 7pm!!!
Danseurs de la Grange, the Dance Barn Student Dance Company, will be producing a dance concert on Saturday, March 5th at 7pm in the Dance Barn Studio Theatre. Please join us for repertory by Dance Barn faculty as well as pieces by student choreographers. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
An announcement from the owners:
We have decided to move back to the New England area this summer to raise our children near their relatives, and are in the process of selling the studio to Charlottesville Ballet, the professional contemporary ballet company that has been rehearsing at the studio for three years. We are thrilled because the directors share our commitment to excellent dance training in a healthy, creative environment. The new Charlottesville Ballet Academy will offer many styles of dance in addition to their strong ballet program beginning in Summer 2011.

The Nutcracker Suite
Join us for our annual holiday event featuring our shortened production of The Nutcracker, refreshments and hot cocoa, and a chance to meet The Sugar Plum Fairy, danced by Megan Giroir of Charlottesville Ballet!

Thanksgiving Break!
The studio will be closed the entire week of Thanksgiving. Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 30th.
Auditions for The Nutcracker: September 11th at 2:30pm
Auditions for our annual production of The Nutcracker Suite will be held Saturday, September 11th at 2:30pm. All students who audition will be cast in the show, and students who participate must register for ballet at The Dance Barn. The performances will be held at William Monroe Middle School on December 11th and 12th, 2010.
Master Class August 21st at 2pm!
This is a reminder that our last master class of the season will be held this Saturday, August 21st at 2pm at The Dance Barn. Jennifer Morley, an amazing artist and good friend of mine, will be teaching a modern dance class, and I encourage everyone to come check it out!
As usual, class is $20 at the door or $15 with advance registration. Just e-mail me back to let me know you're coming to get the advance rate!
Jennifer Morley earned an MFA in Dance from Temple University, a Diploma in Dance from the Laban Centre in London, and a BA in Dance from Hofstra University. She was certified in Pilates by Romana Kryzanowska in NYC in 2002. Jennifer is currently the Conditioning Coordinator for Dancers at Temple University and Drexel University, and runs a private practice called Cozy House Somatics.

Fourth of July Parade
The Dance Barn participated in the Stanardsville Fourth of July parade this year for the first time, and our entry won second place! Thanks to all the dancers and their families who came out in the heat and dressed up to walk with us!!
The Dance Barn on TV!
Charlottesville Ballet and The Dance Barn will be featured on Thursday, April 8th on the CBS 19 evening news at 11 as part of the "Make Dan Sweat" segment where Dan tries ballet. It will also be available to watch online here.
SPRING BREAK!!!
There will be no classes during spring break -- April 2nd through April 9th, 2010! April payments may be mailed to the studio or brought to class the following week. Enjoy your time off!!!
